I’ve been waiting to hear this news for 4 months! Our little Rylie girl does not have Torticollis anymore. Rylie’s physical therapist told us today that she’s thrilled with the progress Rylie has made. We might not even have to go back to physical therapy anymore. Rylie’s Plagiocephaly/Torticollis specialist will do another overview of her in a couple weeks and she will determine if physical therapy will continue. They usually like to keep babies in physical therapy until they are pulling up on things to make sure there are no delays. Rylie has been so advanced with motor skills that her physical therapist is not sure that they will require her to stay that long. Not only is her Torticollis resolved but her Plagiocephaly is correcting very quickly as well. Both her physical therapist and doctor at star cranial said they have never seen a head change shape so quickly. Basically she’s a super star 😂😂. I have to say I’m so proud of her. She has put up with all sorts of stretching and strengthening exercises. She’s had to skip naps to be at physical therapy and she took it all like a champ. There is not much that’s going to hold Rylie back. She’s a force to be reckoned with. On my previous post about Rylie’s Plagiocephaly I wrote about how I was kind of sad that she had to wear a helmet. I can now tell you that I’m very happy she has a helmet for a couple reasons. One, her head looks amazing and it’s only been 3 weeks. Two it has most definitely prevented some serious head injuries lol. Well not really serious but it has definitely protected her from bumps and bruises. If anyone is on the fence about getting a helmet I can definitely say I recommend it.
As you can see there’s a huge difference in the shape of her head. You can see the most dramatic change on her forehead. The large bump on the left side is completely gone. The back of her head has also rounded out very well so far.
